AUSTINTOWN - Prayers will begin Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church for Lorene N. (Tisone) Nicopolis, 85, who died Wednesday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Lorene was born July 21, 1932, in Ava, Mo., the daughter of Chesley and Ruby Howard Teal.
She was a graduate of Ava High School, later moving to this area. She had worked at Superior Industries which later became EASCO Aluminum as a press operator for 30 years before retiring in 2001.
She was a member of St. Joseph Church, loved gardening, ballroom dancing at Fred Astaire dance studio in Boardman, enjoyed ceramics and loved spending time with her friends and family.
Her first husband, William O. Tisone, whom she married Dec. 3, 1954, died March 3, 1986. Her second husband, Christopher Nicopolis, whom she married Aug. 25, 1996, died March 13, 2013.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirley A. (James) McIntosh of Poland; a son, William H. (Lisa) Tisone of Hudson; four sisters, Iris (Tom) Blevins, Wanda McElfish, Betty (Jerry) Ridenour and Margie (Marvin) Butler all of Missouri; two brothers, Kenneth (Diana) Teal and Jerry Teal also of Missouri; and four grandchildren, Lauren and Jillian McIntosh and Valerie and Nicholas Tisone.
Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Jack McElfish.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
