YOUNGSTOWN A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at St. Michael¹s Catholic Church in Canfield for Mrs. Loretta S. Jordan, 96, formerly of Canfield, who died Wednesday afternoon at Park Vista.
She is the daughter of Charles A. and Louisa J. Brossard Sloan and was born June 21, 1912 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Loretta had worked for the Infantry Journal in Washington D.C. as a secretary, and then her and her husband, Dean moved to Canfield in 1956. They had owned and managed the Twin Kiss Drive-In on Youngstown-Poland Road. In 1966 they had moved to Cape Coral, Fla., where she had worked as a sales manager for Empire Homes for 15 years, retiring in 1987.
She was a member of St. Andrews Church and the Cape Coral Board of Realtors in Florida. Dean and Loretta moved back to Canfield in 1996 and were members of the church.
She leaves her stepdaughter, Barbara Peacock of Florida; her niece, Patricia Bokesch, who lives locally; and several other nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dean, whom she married May 17, 1940 and died Nov. 17, 2003; seven sisters; and one brother.
Contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Valley in Loretta¹s memory.
