BOARDMAN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church on Oak Hill Ave. in Youngstown on Tuesday, Sept. 4, for Lorraine A. "Scottie" Hanahan, 81, who passed away at home surrounded by her family.
Lorraine was born in New Jersey and moved to Ohio at an early age.
Known to her friends as "Scottie," she graduated from St. Mary of the Springs Academy in Columbus, and received her B.A. at The Ohio State University.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 56 years, Robert L. Hanahan; her parents, Arthur and Loretta Maloney Pladwell; and her sister, Marilyn England.
She is survived by her three daughters, Laurie Ken Howley of Canfield, Patricia Harry of Rocky River, and Paula Chris Marburger of Tionesta, Pa.; a son, Mark Hanahan of Greenville, S.C.; eight grandchildren, Patrick and Denis Hanahan, Sarah Tim Buckley, Robert Howley, John and Stephen Sigmier, and Eilis and Kevin McCulloh; and a great-grandson, Colin Buckley.
Friends may offer condolences at the church on Tuesday from 9 to 10:45 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Scottie's memory be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., the Dominican Sisters of Peace, 2320 Airport Drive, Columbus, OH 43219, and the ALS Northeastern Chapter 2500 E 22nd St. Cleveland, OH 44115.
