AUSTINTOWN There will be funeral services Saturday at 9 a.m. at the
Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel and at 9:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown, for Lorraine A. Starr, 50,
who died Monday evening at the Cleveland Clinic, awaiting a lung transplant.
She was born Dec. 18, 1956 in Youngstown, a daughter of John and Theresa Nitupski Ragan.
Lorraine graduated from Chaney High School and had worked at the Playtex Products Factory in Streetsboro as a line worker. While her children were
growing up, Lorraine was very active in the Immaculate Heart of Mary PTA, the Austintown Fitch High School PTA, and also with the Lake to River Girl
Scouts as a scout leader. She was a cheerleader advisor for the Austintown Colts and a Fitch Falcon football mom. She was also very active in the church. She was an avid bowler at Kay Lanes and Wedgewood Lanes. She volunteered in the U.S. Marine Corps Key volunteer organization.
She leaves her husband, John E. Starr, whom she married Nov. 1, 1975; her mother, Theresa Ragan of Youngstown; three daughters, Kristen Connelly, Catherine Starr and her fiancé, Frank Donadee and Julie Starr, all of Austintown; a son, Jeffery and his wife, Tia Starr of High Point, N.C.; a
brother, Michael Ragan of Youngstown; four grandchildren, Aidan and Noah Connelly, Isabella Donadee and Avery Shaffer; and countless friends and family who loved and supported her till the end.
Her father, John Ragan, preceded her in death.
Friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 to 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of
