Austintown....Services will be Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, and at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Louis ?Lou? S. Gawron Jr. age 68 of Austintown who passed away Tuesday evening at his home.
Lou was born May 21, 1936, in Youngstown, the son of Louis and Mary Mika Gawron Sr.
Lou graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1953. He was on the golf team and still participated in their golf outings. Lou was a 1960 graduate of YSU, receiving a degree in accounting. He had served in the Army overseas as a MP in Germany. Lou is a member of the VFW in Youngstown. Lou was employed by the IRS as an agent for over 25 years and served as treasurer for the union for the IRS. He was also a partner of the Rigney-Morrow & Gawron Accounting and Tax Service in Boardman. He was a former Immaculate Heart of Mary Booster and was past president of the council. Lou was an avid fan of YSU, OSU and the Browns.
Lou is survived by his wife the former Jackie McDonough, whom he married June 21, 1959, two daughters, Christina George Baldridge of Hudson and Sharon Brent VanHoose of Hilliard; a son Louis R. Gawron of Youngstown; three sisters, Marie Rubino of Lowellville, Jacqulyn Gawron of Lowellville, and Dolores Neil Lynch of Hartford, CT.; and four grandchildren, Ryan and Jackie Baldridge and Christian and Sydney Van Hoose.
Lou was preceded in death by his parents and a son Patrick S. Gawron.
