Lowellville - Lucia DiPasquale Ferri, 84, formerly of Lowellville, was born into eternal life on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. with her family by her side.
In recent years, Mrs. Ferri had resided at St. Raphael's Home for the Aged in Columbus, where the sisters of the Carmelite Order and their employees took wonderful care of her.
Lucia was the yougest of four children, born in Introdacqua, Italy on June 13, 1920.
In 1938, she married her loving husband, Francesco Ferri, in Italy at age 18. Shortly thereafter, they resided Villarue, France. Years later, they moved to Montreal, Quebec Canada in 1951, and in 1956, the family made a final move to the small village of Lowellville. During that time, the family attended the Our Lady of Holy Rosary Church. Lucia and her husband raised three children. Throughout her life, Mrs. Ferri passed that gift of faith onto her children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francesco Ferri; her parents, Giuseppe and Bina Giustini Dipasquale; her sister, Tilde Luige DiCienzo; and her brother, Guidone Anna DePasquale.
Her surviving family members include an older brother, John Mary DePasquale; her sons Ezio Joan Ferri and Reno Elizabeth Ferri Sr.; a daughter, Tilde John Bricker; her grandchildren, Frank, Michele, Mark, Carla, Joseph, Reno, Erica, Justin, and Kristin; and four great-grandsons, Jordan, Michael, Andrew and Ethan.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel.
Services will be Monday at 9:45 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon, Poland Chapel, and a Mass of resurrection celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at the Our Lady of Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville.
