STRUTHERS - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic's Church, with the Rev. Bernard Timothy, OP officiating, for Lucille "Lulu" Campana, 87, who passed away peacefully Monday evening, surrounded by her family.
Lulu was born June 10, 1929, in Campbell, a daughter of the late Alex and Mary (Richutti) Sacomani.
Lulu was a 1948 graduate of Campbell High School and the Lewis & Wineburger Beauty Academy. She worked as a beautician, out of her shop at her home, up until two years ago.
She was also a devote Catholic and a member of St. Dominic's Church.
Lulu was the matriarch of the family. She kept everyone together and she helped anyone that would confide in her. Lulu was also known for her amazing cooking and baking.
Her husband and soulmate, Albert "Big Al" Campana, whom she married Nov. 26, 1949, passed away April 7, 2009.
Lulu leaves her children, Maryann (Richard) Demesko of Poland, who was her best friend and caregiver, James Richard Sr. of Boardman and TJ (Debbie) Campana of Struthers; and 10 grandchildren, Laila, Carmen, Mandi Marie, Ty, Brooke, Candace, Dalton, James Richard II, Nicole Marie and Melodie Ann; and seven great-grandchildren, Tristan, Ava, Carter, Adriana, Natalia, Nico and Gaetana.
Lulu was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mandi; and a sister, Mary Ann Born.
Family and friends may call Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. Entombment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
