POLAND - Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Poland Methodist Church for Eleanor Lucille Shaeffer Carroll, 91, who died Tuesday afternoon at Maplecrest Nursing Home in Struthers.
Eleanor was born July 30, 1919, to the late Emmet and Laura Arnold Shaeffer.
She graduated from South High School in 1937 and later worked briefly for the Isaly Dairy Company.
Mrs. Carroll was a homemaker and a member of the Poland United Methodist Church.
Her husband, Jack Carroll, whom she married Oct. 25, 1941, died Jan. 6, 2003.
Mrs. Carroll is survived by her daughter, Judy L. Carroll of Struthers; a son, Greg Jo Marie Carroll of Kinston, N.C.; three grandsons, Christopher, Scott and Ryan; and five great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Laughlin and a sister, Virginia Biggins; and a brother, Carol Shaeffer.
Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel and from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Monday morning at the Poland Methodist Church.
