CANFIELD - Lucille D. Vechiarella, 86, made her transition to her heavenly home on Wednesday afternoon March 19, 2025.
Lucille was born on August 18, 1938, in Youngstown, the eldest of six children of William and Jane Glaros.
She was a proud graduate of South High School where she was a majorette.
Lucille embarked on a lifelong journey, fueled by love and resilience, as she skillfully navigated the many transitions brought on by her husband James' football coaching career. Their lives were marked by many moves around the country; yet, wherever they went, Lucille ensured that her family found warmth and comfort. She created a sanctuary of love, welcoming her husband and children home to a hot meal and the promise of an inviting space that radiated her strong spirit. Lucille’s commitment to her family transcended the ordinary as she poured her soul into developing a nurturing home environment, one that became a steadfast pillar in the face of change.
Lucille is survived by her sons, Jim (Lynn) Vechiarella and Bill (Sheila) Vechiarella; and her daughter, Lisa (Dr. Jon) Saadey; brothers, Ron (Judy) Glaros and Bill Glaros; sister, Linda (Chuck) Saulino; precious grandchildren, James (Melanie) Vechiarella, Nicholas (Laura) Vechiarella, Alyssa Vechiarella, Dominic Vechiarella, Anthony Vechiarella, Shannon (Dr. Tom) Adolf, and Lt. Jon (Brittani Ortega) Saadey. She also proudly leaves six great-grandchildren, Victoria, James, Sophia, Matthew, Thomas, and Isabelle.
In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Vechiarella; sisters, Janice Pantel and Kathy Glaros and sister-in-law, Elaine Glaros.
