AUSTINTOWN ? Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Lyle ?Bud? Holland, 68, who died Thursday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center, surrounded by his family.
Lyle was born Oct. 6, 1941, in Marietta to the late Roy and Josephine Hauss Holland.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during peacetime.
Bud was an avid hunter and loved to play golf.
Lyle retired in 1996 from General Motors Lordstown Assembly Plant after 32 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local 1112, the UAW retirees Golf League, the Lake Milton Fish and Game Club, and a life member of the NRA.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steven in 1985; and his brothers, Tom and John Holland.
Lyle is survived by his wife, the former Beverly Nelson, whom he married April 20, 1963; two daughters, Cindy Ray Ratkowski of Austintown and Kelly Jerry Ceja of Austintown; seven grandchildren, Scott, Ashley, Kristin, Lyle, Josh, Christina and Taylor; one great-granddaughter, Niah; a sister, Lyla Jack Gabler of Fayetteville, N.C.; and sister-in-law Karen Holland of Byesville.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
