BOARDMAN - A prayer service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman Canfield Chapel and a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m. at St. Dominic Church, Youngstown for Mrs. M. Genevieve Bowman, 96, who died Sunday morning at her residence.
She was born Sept. 8, 1915, in Youngstown, a daughter of George J. and Catherine Nuber Cappy.
Mrs. Bowman was the former owner of Korner Kupboard Dairy in Cornersburg, also had worked as a Real Estate Agent for over 20 years, and was an avid antique collector. She was a member of the church.
Mrs. Bowman married Harry B. Bowman on June 26, 1935, and he died in 2001.
She leaves two daughters, Patricia Sullivan of Canfield and Kathleen "Cookie" Bowman; a son, Martin J. Bowman, both with whom she made her home; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Bowman of Florida; seven grandchildren, Susan Terry Basista Sullivan, Stephen Angela Sullivan, John Bridget Brown Sullivan, Laura Jim Cestary, Christine Ron Rowland, Michelle and Carrie Bowman; eight great-grandchildren, Thomas, Stephen, Alex, Sean, Trista, Nathan, Jordan and Harrison; and one great-great-grandson.
Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Susan Bowman; a son, Harry M. Bowman; two sisters, Margaret Stratford and Athalia Beil; and a great-grandson, Patrick Sullivan.
Friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12:30 to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
