Madalyn was born Oct. 12, 1925, in Warren, the daughter of the late Frank S. and Vivian H. Webb Schontz.

Madalyn graduated from South High School and attended Youngstown College, where she belonged to a business sorority. She worked for Union Oil in Chicago as an executive secretary and then at the University of South Carolina as a travel coordinator for 10 years.

She was active in Birth Rite in South Carolina and was a member of St. Michael Church. Madalyn enjoyed arts, crafts, classical music, and was an avid reader. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed watching cooking shows and trying new recipes. She was known for her jam and supervising the making of it. One of her fondest memories was her trip through Europe with her sister on the Orient Express.

Her husband, Daniel J. "Bo" Denny, whom she married Aug. 27, 1949, passed away Dec. 12, 2002.

She leaves her two daughters, Carolyn Mark Denny-Schaefer of Canfield and Christina Mark Stimac of Greendale, Wis.; her daughter-in-law, Georgianne Denny; nine grandchildren, Julie, Christen Tom McNally, John, Marcus, Michael, Maddy, Daniel, Matthew and Madalyn; four great-grandchildren; and numerous special nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Madalyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Larry Denny; her sister, Flo Jean Sweeney; half brother Aaron Schontz, and sister-in-law Lois Bees.

Family and friends may call on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
