POLAND - Prayers will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Church for Margaret R. Eperjesi, 95, who passed away Monday morning at Masternick Memorial.
Margaret was born Feb. 29, 1916, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Andrew and Rose Zelinsky Pasuth.
Margaret worked at Strouss' in the baby wear department for six years, retiring in 1950. She also worked at Southside Hospital assisting nurses and Ravenna Arsenal during the war. Margaret was a precinct worker in Poland for about 30 years. She was a member of the Holy Family Church and their Altar and Rosary Society and the JEDNOTA Lodge No. 025. She enjoyed baking, sewing, and gardening.
Her husband, John S. Eperjesi, whom she married Aug. 26, 1950, passed away Dec. 30, 1997.
Margaret leaves two sons, John E. Doreen Eperjesi and Michael Linda Eperjesi, both of Poland; a granddaughter, Melissa Eperjesi of Poland; a sister, Anna R. Topolosky of Pennsylvania; and a brother, Ambrose Brayer of Massachusetts.
Margaret was also preceded in death by her daughter, Rita Eperjesi on April 14, 2010; Michael and Ann Brayer who raised her; and a sister, Betty Gill.
Family and friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
