YOUNGSTOWN - Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church for Margaret June Gonda, 80, who passed away Friday at ValleyCare Northside Medical Center.
Margaret was born July 7, 1932, in Youngstown.
Margaret graduated in 1950 from The Rayen School. Prior to her marriage, she worked for both the General Fireproofing Company and the Ohio Edison Company. She and her husband enjoyed traveling in pursuit of their collecting interests.
Her husband Steve D. Gonda whom she married April 8, 1954, passed away Jan. 25, 1992.
Margaret leaves her two daughters, Julia Margaret Robert Lloyd of Poland and Beth Ann William Stanko of Canfield; her son, Steve John Diane Gonda of Youngstown; and four grandchildren, Jennifer and Stephanie Gonda, and Margaret and Allison Stanko.
Margaret was preceded in death by her mother, Julie Mae Leuschner; her grandmother, Margaret Matilda White Leuschner, who had cared for and in later years was cared for by Margaret until her death; and her granddaughter, Emily Elizabeth Stanko.
Family and friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel and Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church.
Burial will take place at Tod Homestead Cemetery.
