Margaret Korchnak

POLAND - A funeral service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family for Margaret (Bakos) Korchnak who died suddenly at the age of 88, on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, and was rejoined with her husband, Charles, to be together for eternity.

Margaret was born on April 12, 1924, to George and Catherine Bakos of Campbell.

She was married to Charles Korchnak on Oct. 18, 1947, and they had 65 years together. Charles preceded Margaret in death on Nov. 16, 2012, in order to prepare for their heavenly home.

Margaret grew up in Campbell, graduated from Campbell Memorial High School, and lived there until her marriage. She was a homemaker and took pride in taking care of her family and her home. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, shopping and playing cards with her long time friends.

Margaret was a charter member of the Holy Family Church and belonged to the Poland Knights of Columbus K-Cettes.

Left to cherish their mother's memory are her two daughters, Bonnie Goricki and her husband, Doug Warrick of Struthers and Sandra Stanislav and her husband, Kirk Snively of Canfield. She also leaves three grandchildren who were the pride and joy of her life, Robert Goricki of Lakewood and Kristyn and Andrew Stanislav of Canfield, along with several nieces and nephews.

Also preceding Margaret in death were her three sisters, Mary Shirilla, Helen (Billie) Bodnar and Catherine Greenfield, and two brothers, George (Red) Vrable and Mike Bakos.

Family and friends may call Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.

The family would like to thank the staff at Ivy Woods Manor in North Lima, where Margaret lived for the last four and a half years. They would also like to thank Dr. James Demidovich and All Caring Hospice for the care they provided.
