AUSTINTOWN - Prayers will begin Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart Of Mary Church for Margaret "Peggy" McCarthy, 66, who unexpectedly died suddenly Wednesday morning at her son's home in Springboro.
She was born June 17, 1944, in Youngstown, the daughter of Emil and Eleanor Carney Nemeth.
Peggy was a 1962 graduate of Ursuline High School and had worked for Mahoning County and the City of Youngstown, most recently working at the Mahoning County Department of Health and Human Services in the payroll department before retiring in 2009. She was a former member of St. Luke's Church and was a member of the Ladies A.O.H. Her greatest enjoyment was spending her time with her children and grandchildren.
Peggy leaves four sons, Michael D. Cindy McCarthy of Boardman, Daniel P. Nancy McCarthy with whom she made her home in Austintown, Jeremiah F. Julie McCarthy of Springboro and Patrick J. McCarthy of Richmond, Va.; two sisters her twin sister, Patricia Nemeth of Poland and Kathleen Nicholas Romeo of Poland; her sister-in-law, Margaret Nemeth of Boardman; and nine grandchildren, Kathryn, Liam, Jessica, Daniel, Benjamin, Jared, Megan, Padraig and Ella.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, the former Mahoning County Sheriff Edward P. Nemeth.
