YOUNGSTOWN - Prayers will begin Thursday morning at 11:00 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:30 AM at St. Christine Church for Margaret R. Pacek age 88 who passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon at her home with family at her side.
Margaret was born July 21, 1920 in Youngstown, the daughter of Peter S. and Mary Hudock Zemen.
She was a 1938 graduate of Chaney High School and later assisted her husband in their family business Hartford Machine Service and Pacek & Becker Distributors, but she took great pride in her role as a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. While raising her family she took an active role and would volunteer her time for school activities.
She was a member of St. Christine Church, Catholic Daughters of America, the ladies auxilleries of the Kiwanis, and K of C Council # 274. She was an avid reader and sports fan especially for her Yankees and Raiders.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years Victor R. Pacek whom she married January 19, 1946, two daughters; Arlene Scull and Mary Ann Clyde Earp both of Youngstown, a sister Anna M. Zemen of Youngstown, a brother William R. Gladys Zemen of Mineral Ridge, six grandchildren Jennifer Chris Albrecht of Massilion, Rebecca Scull of Youngstown, Rachael Randy Smith of Austintown, Erin Chris Denison of Charlotte, NC, and Victoria and Alexander S. Earp of Youngstown, five great-grandchildren; Nathan and Margaret Grace Albrecht, and Cameron, Chloe and Randy Smith Jr.
