BOARDMAN - Prayers will be held Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church for Margaret "Peggy" Ann Vidman, 80, who passed away Saturday at Hospice House.
Peggy was born Sept. 21, 1936, in Struthers, a daughter of the late Gerald and Julia (Williams) Donnelly.
Peggy graduated from Struthers High School. She started her career at Brown's Drug Store, which later became CVS. Peggy was their photo tech and cashier, and also was steward of their union. She was a member of St. Charles Church and their bereavement committee. She also volunteered her time at the March of Dimes and enjoyed going to card club with her husband.
Peggy loved baking, cooking, holidays, and vacationing at Lake Erie and the Alleghany Mountains. She was also an avid Steelers and Ohio State fan.
Her husband, Fred P. Vidman, whom she married Oct. 25, 1956, passed away Aug. 11, 1998.
Peggy leaves her daughter, Colleen Filek, with whom she made her home; three sons, Bob (Meredith) Vidman of Coldchester, Conn., Mark Vidman of Boardman, and James (Kelly) Canfield; nine grandchildren, Mallory, Trent, Terrence, Michael, Barbara, Race, Madison, Vince, and Eric; and two great-grandchildren, Carter and Lilly.
Peggy was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kathi Vidman; a great-granddaughter, Hannah; a sister, Mary Pat Schmid; and a brother, Gerry Donnelly.
Family and friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
