AUSTINTOWN - A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church for Margaret Virgil age 86 who passed away Saturday morning at the Hospice House. Margaret was born September 5, 1921 in Greenford, Ohio, the daughter of John and Anne Miskovsky Virgil. She was a 1940 graduate of Lisbon H.S. where she excelled in basketball becoming the teams high scorer and was a drum majorette.
She later earned her Diploma in Interior Decorating from Thomasville Designs in North Carolina.
She had worked in furniture sales from 1970 to 1982 at the Haber Furniture Store in Youngstown and later at Sheely's Furniture from 1982 to 1991. She also worked at J.C. Penney and Montgomery Ward in Canton and for the R.S. McCulloch & Co. in Salem.
She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Bible class, Business Woman's Association, and Daughters of America.
She is survived by a niece and three nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother John Virgil Jr. and a sister Anne Whitcomb.
