YOUNGSTOWN - Private services were held for Mrs. Maria Kulisz, 86, formerly of Austintown, who died Tuesday morning at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
She was born Oct. 13, 1924, in the Ukraine, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kutscheanko, and came to this area in 1951 with her husband, Anton, whom she married July of 1947.
Maria worked at Northside Hospital in the housekeeping department, retiring in 1988. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her dogs.
Maria leaves four sons, Tony Rita of Austintown, Paul Sally of Austintown, Peter Phyllis of Canfield and James of Austintown; four grandchildren, Nora, Abigail, Alexandra and James Jr.; and two great-grandchildren, Haley and David.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anton, and her granddaughter, Kerry Ann Kulisz.
The family would like to thank the staff of Sterling House who took such good care of Maria.
Arrangements are by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
