STRUTHERS - Prayers will begin Tuesday at 11:45 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 PM at Christ Our Savior St. Nicholas Church for Marian Davis, 89, who died late Thursday evening at home surrounded by her family.
Marian was born May 21, 1927, in Youngstown, the daughter of Frances and Mary (Maguire) Campbell.
She was a 1945 graduate of East High School and worked as a credit manager at Sears from 1969 until 1985.
Marian was a member of Saint Nicholas Church, and had been past president of the PTA at Manor Avenue School. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, and attending Struthers Wildcats football games. As proud supporters of the Youngstown State University athletic fund, she and her husband attended both home and away football games for many years. Above all, Marion enjoyed the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Evan W. Davis, whom she married May 18, 1946; three daughters, Judy Davenport of Poland, Joan (Ray) Baldelli of Poland and Patricia Davis (William Bradlyn) of Charlotte, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Donald (Amy) Davenport Jr., Damian (Lisa) Davenport, Amber (Michael) Simpson, Missy (Shawn) Boerio, Kristen (Kevin) Massie, Katie Massacci, Amanda Daly, and Joseph Schraider (fianceé Marissa Hostal); and 18 great-grandchildren.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Katherine O'Neill, Margaret McBride, Jean Caligiuri and Patricia Daley; and brothers Frances(Bud) Campbell and Jack Campbell.
Family and friends may call Tuesday from 10 to 11:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
The family would like to thank her caretakers, Donna, Kathy, and Rosa, and all the staff of MVI Hospice for the care and compassion given to Marian.
