AUSTINTOWN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Mineral Ridge, 3504 state Rte. 46 for Mrs. Marian K. Turk, 81, who died Tuesday morning at Hospice House.
She was born April 22, 1930, in Youngstown, a daughter of John and Mary Hivner Ferree.
She had been the manager of the Lawson's store in McDonald and later worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital as a cashier in the parking deck before retiring. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mineral Ridge, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and had volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She had formerly been an active member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for many years.
Marian was married to Anthony Turk, whom she married Jan. 17, 1953, and who died Feb. 4, 1988.
She leaves two daughters, Mary K. Turk and Kathleen John Rocco of Austintown; a son Anthony Sandy Turk of McDonald; a sister, Jane Carl Moss of Austintown; a brother John JoAnn Ferree of Chesterland; grandchildren, Anthony and Ryan Turk, Julie and Kristy Rocco and Patty and John Rocco; great-grandchildren, John, Amanda, Melissa and Jaelyn; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce C. Ferree.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
