Marianne Lindsay

YOUNGSTOWN - Prayers will be held Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Edward Church, for Marianne T. Lindsay, 81, who passed away Saturday at her home with her family by her side.

Marianne was born Dec. 6, 1929, in Youngstown, the daughter of James and Catherine Carr Horan.

Marianne was a 1948 graduate of The Rayen School. She was a member of St. Edward Church and their Wednesday Prayer Group. She was a Eucharistic minister for St. Edwards Church, Northside Hospital and St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was also a life guard and safety instructor at The Northside Pool. Marianne enjoyed sewing and reading. Her greatest love was for her family and spending time with them.

Her husband, David E. Lindsay, whom she married Sept. 19, 1959, passed away June 13, 2003.

Marianne leaves five daughters, Beth Tom Rovnyak of Youngstown, Annie Dave Carter of Louisville, Ky., Cathy Grote, Jamie Donald Hutchinson and Jeanne Jim DeSalvo, all of Cincinnati; a son, Austin Tina Lindsay of Logan; a sister, Kathleen DeNiro of Cincinnati; a brother, John Sara Horan of Cincinnati; 19 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Marianne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David; her first husband, Eugene Wilson; a son, Donald Wilson; a granddaughter, Lindsay Grote; a sister, Jeanne Bosela; and a brother, James Horan.

Family and friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Material tributes may take the form of donations to St. Edward Church.
