CANFIELD - Services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony Church in Youngstown for Marie Esther Battafarano age 87 who passed away Friday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Health Center after an over three month illness.
Marie was born May 17, 1919, in Youngstown, the daughter of Anthony and Victoria Morano Liguore.
A lifelong member of St. Anthony, Marie will be always remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother by her husband John Anthony Battafarano whom she married April 19, 1947, her two sons; Philip and his wife Renee Battafarano of Boardman, and Jack Battafarano with whom she made her home in Canfield, her granddaughter, Danielle Battafarano of Poland, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by four sisters, Lovinia, Marcella, Josephine, and Philomena, and three brothers, Anthony, Rocco, and Joseph Liguore.
Friends may call Sunday from 4 PM to 7 PM, at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, and Monday morning from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at St. Anthony Church.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to Hospice of The Valley, 5190 Market Street, Boardman, Ohio 44512, in Mrs. Battafarano's memory.
