Marie Klimaski

July 1, 1916 — May 19, 2009

AUSTINTOWN ­ Prayers will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the
Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Marie Elizabeth Klimaski, 92, who passed away early Tuesday morning at her home.

Marie was born July 1, 1916 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late William and Anna Budesky Zarnick.

Marie was a 1932 graduate of South High School. She attended Youngstown University and was a sorority member. Marie was a founding member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and their Altar and Rosary Society. She was a Girl Scout Leader, belonged to the Youngstown Bridge Club and the Bridge club in Cornersburg. Marie enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening as well as an active computer user. Everyone knew her for the many baby blankets she would make. Marie also enjoyed traveling to see her children and her trips to Europe and China. She like watching sports, especially the Spurs and discussing the results with Fr. Popovich. Her greatest love was for her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and neighbor and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maximillian A. Klimaski, whom she married July 12, 1941, and passed away Dec. 3, 2000; and two brothers, Joseph Zarnick and Henry Zawrotniak.

Marie leaves four daughters, Roberta Spaulding of Austintown, Patricia Charles Kucharik of Orlando, Fla., Karen S. Maurice McAshan of Kerrville, Texas and Lynne Philip Huber of Dallas; 12 grandchildren Jeremy StephanieSpaulding, Lisa Jason Hersh, Chris Leilani Kucharik, Jennifer Jorge Giral, Kimberly and Andrea Kucharik, Jim McAshan, Phil Melissa Huber, and Elizabeth, Natalie, Tiffany, and Ali Huber; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that material tributes take the form of donations to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
