Marion D. Henderson, 82

Youngstown- Funeral Services will be 10:30am Saturday in Zion Lutheran Church, for Marion D. Henderson, age 82, of Youngstown who passed away peacefully Sunday, March 30, 2008, in Hospice House following a period of declining health. Marion was tired and longed to be reunited with her late husband Randy, a sister Peggy Lou Albert of Chicago, her parents George and Gertrude Egan of Youngstown, and an uncle Bill Liddy of Elmira, NY.

Marion was born January 26, 1926 in Youngstown and except for living and working in Elmira, NY for a short time, she lived almost her whole life in the Youngstown area.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband to whom she was married for 50 years, her parents, and one sister.

She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Mae Toomey of Pittsfield, MA, three sons, Randall of Youngstown, Robert aka Rusty and Carol of Canton, and Alan of Youngstown; sister-in-law Lois Holmgren of Youngstown; five grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marion retired as a florist and with the aid of her gigantic green thumb, her lifelong gardens were a stunning kaleidoscope of colors and visual effects. She worked for several Youngstown area flower shops. Marion and Randy were very active in their church and they were charter members of the church's Mr. and Mrs. Club. Marion also enthusiastically served on the church council. She made the church's Advent Wreath for over 45 years.

Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel and on Saturday from 9:30-10:30am at the church.
