CANFIELD - Prayers will be held on Friday at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Church for Marjorie M. Basta Jensen, 73, who passed away Monday at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Marjorie was born Oct. 13, 1938, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Dominic and Mae Basta.
Marjorie was a 1956 graduate of East High School and attended Youngstown State University for two years. She was a secretary for Youngstown Sheet and Tube and then moved to California with her husband, Richard and was an executive secretary for General Dynamics. Marjorie and Richard returned back to the area and she became a secretary for KC Equipment.
Marjorie was a district leader for the democratic party in Canfield and was a member of the precinct committee. She enjoyed volunteering at local organizations such as Easter Seals, Help Hotline, Hospice and CASA.
Marjorie leaves her husband, Richard C. Jensen, whom she married March 18, 1967, and a brother, Raymond Basta of Florida.
Family and friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
