MCDONALD - Prayers will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Mark G. Kane, 53, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, Tuesday, March 8, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital after a two year illness.
Mark was born April 29, 1957, in Youngstown, the son of James E. and Mary Lou Hackett Kane.
Mark was a 1975 graduate of Austintown Fitch. He was a man of great character, well-read in many areas, with a welcome sense of humor that he inherited from his father.
He dearly loved his nieces and nephews and his entire family.
His athletic prowess as high school basketball player at Austintown Fitch in the mid 1970s remains unforgettable to family and friends. His love of music will always be remembered. Mark will be deeply missed by his entire family.
Mark leaves his mother, Mary Lou Kane of Austintown; his three brothers, John Cathy Kane of Kent, Jim Kane of Pine, Ariz. and Bob Kane of McDonald; two sisters, Kate Kane of Austintown and Maureen David Loewenwarter of Missoula, Mont.; four nieces, Cassie Kane, Hester Kane Stouder, Rachel Kane and Krista Loewenwarter; four nephews, Matt, Thomas, Collin and James Kane; and a great-niece, Teaghan Kane.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, James E. Kane in 1992 and an infant brother, Michael Kane.
Family and friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
