Mark Moore

CANFIELD - Prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Church for Mark E. Moore, 47, of Simpsonville, S.C., formerly of Boardman, who died unexpectedly Monday evening at his home.

Mark was born Aug. 25, 1965, in Youngstown, the son of Edward and Patricia Vasko Moore.

He was a 1983 graduate of Boardman High School, where he was a member of its Glee and Coral Clubs. He later graduated in 1990 from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. While at YSU, he was a member of Alpha Mu fraternity and was the Vice President and Advertising director of the University's student paper.

He then began his career in retail management at K-Mart. He was currently working as the assistant manager of Walgreens in Simpsonville, S.C.

While growing up in Boardman, he was a member of St. Luke's Church and played Little and Senior Little league baseball for the Boardman Baseball Association. Mark was a fitness fanatic and enjoyed playing softball and had coached Pony League baseball in Selma, N.C., he also enjoyed traveling.

He is survived by his father, Edward Moore of Canfield; a sister, Dr. Michele Moore DO and her husband, Dr. Jay Yuhas DO of Bay Village; a niece, Patty Yuhas; a nephew, Cyril Yuhas; and many other family and friends.

He will be greatly missed by his loving companion and beloved Jack Russell, Mary Jane "MJ."

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Moore; and grandparents Sussanna and Edward Moore and John and Ann Vasko.

Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.

The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donation to Mark's Alma Mater Youngstown State University's Williamson College of Business Administrations Scholarship Fund, One University Plaza, Youngstown, OH 44502, in Mark's memory.
