AUSTINTOWN - Martha E. Thomas DeBruyn, 58, passed away Sunday evening at Hospice House.
Martha was born Oct. 9, 1953, in Youngstown, a daughter of Richard "Red" J. and Janice Davis Thomas Jr.
Martha was a 1972 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. She was an administrative assistant for downtown PharMor. Martha graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2000 from Youngstown State University with a Bachelors of Arts Degree. A favorite part of her time was spent in creative writing.
Martha leaves her husband, Gerald P. DeBruyn, whom she married Sept. 29, 1995; her mother, Janice Thomas of Austintown; her daughter, Debra DeBruyn of Austintown; her son, Paul Becky DeLisio Jr. of Odenton, Md.; her brother, Richard J. Thomas III of Austintown; and her two grandchildren, Mary Grace DeBruyn and Brigit Rubin.
Martha was preceded in death by her father.
There will be a celebration of Martha's life on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Western Reserve Community Church in their lower level.
Material tributes may take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley or the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Professional arrangements are being handled by Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
