AUSTINTOWN - Prayers will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Mary Bartos, 86, who passed away Sunday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mary was born March 8, 1925, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Michael and Helen Kowallis Yanochko.
Mary was a 1944 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and volunteered at St. Anne's Church Bingo. She loved going to her grandchildren's events, including baseball, softball, dance and cheerleading.
Mary enjoyed baking and cooking and always made holidays special. She also enjoyed bingo, gambling and the Steelers.
Mary leaves her husband, Joseph S. Bartos, whom she married May 8, 1948; her two daughters, Betty Patrick of Austintown and Debbie Leon Wielbruda of Austintown; and three grandchildren, Tammy McFarland, Brianna fiance Joe Wielbruda and Joey Wielbruda.
Family and friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
