POLAND...Services will be Monday at 11:00 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel for Mary L. Bennett age 76 of Poland who passed away Thursday afternoon at her home. Mary was born March 24, 1929, in Springfield, Massachusetts, the daughter of Henry and Maude Morgan Johnson.
She had worked as a teacher and librarian for over 40 years, working first at the Windam School District, and later retiring as the librarian at Hubbard High School in 1994. She was a 1946 graduate of Hickory High School where she was co-valedictorian, had attended Centenary College in New Jersey, received her Bachelors Degree from Kent State , and later earned her Masters Degree in Library Science from Kent State University.
Her husband Samuel P. Bennett whom she married February 10, 1948, died July 22, 2000.
She is survived by a son Pete Jo Bennett of Canfield, two daughters, Paula L. Karekin Arzoomanian of Chappaqua, N.Y., and Suzi Randy Reichenbach of Columbus, two brothers, Henry Dawn Johnson of Monroeville, PA, and Karl M. Marilyn Johnson of Scottsdale, Arizona, six grandchildren, Morgan and Lauren Bennett, Christopher and Diana Arzoomanian, and Allison and Tyler Reichenbach, a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Joyce Bennett of Cortland, and her sister and brother-in-law, Betty and John Tymochko of Hermitage, PA.
Friends may call from 4 PM to 7 PM Sunday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel.
