Mary Bindas

CANFIELD - Services will be Tuesday at 9:30 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel and at 10:00 AM at St. Christine Church for Mary Beth Bindas who was also known as "Bets" age 65 who passed away peacefully Friday evening at her home with her family at her side from complications from ALS Lou Gerhig's Disease.
Mary Beth was born February 6, 1941, the daughter of Andrew and Agnes Toomey Pompoco.
She was a 1959 graduate of Ursuline High School, and had been the owner operator of Mary Beth's Beauty Salon for over 10 years. She had also worked with her husband serving as secretary treasurer for Bindas Sparkle Markets for over 15 years. She was active in the Youngstown Ladies Grocers Auxiliary where she had served as treasurer for many years.
She was an active member of St. Christine Church where she had taught CCD, and served on various building fund projects.
Her main love was being a mother to her five children, and a grandmother to her seven grandchildren. She will be missed the most because she was always helping others rather than herself, especially her husband, children and grandchildren.
She will be forever loved and remembered by her husband Paul A. Bindas, Sr. whom she married June 27, 1964, three sons Paul Sandy Bindas, Jr., of Canfield, Patrick Bindas of Boardman, and Thomas Michelle Bindas of Poland, two daughters, Kristine Ted Melewski of Boardman, and Kellie Bindas at home, two brothers, James Pompoco of Canfield, and Jack Pompoco of Poland, seven grandchildren, Ashley, Jacob, Paul, Taylor and Morgan Bindas, and Michael and Marisa Melewski.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 4 PM to 8 PM Monday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the Mary Beth Bindas Memorial Scholarship Fund at any Farmers National Bank Branch.
