Youngstown . . .Funeral services are Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Boardman-Canfield Chapel and 10:00 a.m. in St. Christine Church for Mrs. Mary C. Deskin age 94 of Youngstown who died Saturday evening at Assumption Village.
Mrs. Deskin was born January 23, 1911 in Buffalo, New York a daughter of Valentine and Caroline Chumara Bogdan and moved to this area in 1934.
She had worked for the Mazda Lamp Co. G.E. in the auto headlights assembly and then worked at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in the food service department for 15 years retiring in 1975. Mary was a member of the church.
Her husband Lawrence J. Deskin whom she married in 1934 died in 1984.
She leaves 4 sons Lawrence Kathy of Syracuse, New York, Patrick Mary of West Palm Beach, Fla., William Judith of Manchester, Conn. and Michael of Youngstown and a sister Mrs. Alice Walter Parks of New York, 22 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son John, 6 sisters Rose Krawchek, Stephanie Frelock, Frances Tutthill, Victoria Bogdan, Antoinette Clopp, Ernestine Jedrzejewski; 5 brothers John Moskal, Stanley Bogdan, Casmer Bogdan, Alois Bogdan and Bernard Bogdan.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5:00 ? 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests memorial contributions to Hospice of the Valley.
