YOUNGSTOWN - Graveside services will be Saturday, May 14, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery for Mary V. "Nonnie" Joyce, 95, who died Tuesday afternoon, May 3, at her home.
Mary was born Jan. 29, 1916, in Helvetia, Pa., the daughter of Andrew and Mary Pyne Spain.
Mrs. Joyce worked as the office manager for Structural Iron Workers Local No. 207 for over 41 years before retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. Christine Church, a founding member of the "Seed'n Weed" Garden Club and her 500 Card Club. Nonnie also volunteered at Fellows Riverside Gardens and is remembered by her family as a wonderful mother, grandmother and aunt, and by her friends as an extraordinary woman.
Her husband, Alfred F. Joyce, whom she married Aug. 21, 1943, died Jan. 28, 1988. Also preceding her in death were her two brothers, John and Leo S.
She is survived by her daughter, Mariellen Chambers of Boardman; three grandchildren, Colin and Devon Chambers and Jessica Mike Lodge; and five great-grandchildren, Jake, Matthew, Joshua, Nicholas, and Samantha Lodge.
