Mary Klempay

AUSTINTOWN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, at 11 a.m., at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, for Mary Lou Klempay, 88, who died on Monday, Feb. 11, at Hospice House.
Mary Lou was born June 18, 1930, in Youngstown, a daughter of Julius and Mary (Jakupcin) Bodnar.
She was a 1948 graduate of Chaney High School.
She was a dedicated homemaker and was very active in the Immaculate Heart of Mary School and Parish throughout her life.
Her husband, James A. Klempay, whom she married May 20, 1950, passed away March 2, 2004.
Mary Lou leaves her three daughters, Mary Lou (Greg) Shirilla of Boardman, Barbara (Mike) Rolley of Austintown and Patty (Bill) Walker of Austintown; six sons, Jim (Pat) Klempay of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, Rich (Cheryl) Klempay of Austintown, Robert Klempay, with whom she made her home, John (Karen) Klempay of Canfield, Ray (Lisa) Klempay of Austintown, and Mark Klempay; one sister, Dolores Patrick of Austintown; three brothers, Julius Bodnar of Columbiana, Edward (Pat) Bodnar of Canton, and Richard (Dottie) Bodnar of Boardman; 18 grandchildren, Jeff (Julie Kuhns) Shirilla, Nicole Shirilla, Ryan (Sarah) Shirilla, Christy (John Schilder) Shirilla, Robert (Ashley) Rolley, Michael (Nora Feller) Rolley, James (Kim) Rolley, Walter Klempay, Matthew Klempay, Jim (Rachel) Klempay, Dan Klempay, Jenna (fiance, Alex McLean) Klempay, Anastasia Walker, Kristopher and Andrea Klempay, Erika (fiance, Brett Sullivan) Klempay, Ray Klempay and Tim Steele; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; and Kimberly Steele (her son, Mark’s significant other).
Family and friends may attend calling hours on Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m., at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 4303 Mahoning Ave.
