AUSTINTOWN - A memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Mary Lou Sedmak, 88, who went home to be with the Lord on Thursday evening at Austinwoods Nursing Home, surrounded by her loved ones.
Mary Lou was born on Aug. 15, 1929, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Michael and Margaret (Reagan) Paglia.
Mary Lou was a 1947 graduated from Wilson High School. In her free time, she enjoyed playing 500 Bid, bowling, dancing and cooking. Her most precious memories were spent with her family whom she loved and adored.
She is survived by her children, Maggie Sedmak of Boardman, Kathy (James) Burgy of Austintown, Sally (Donald) Hilbert of Austintown, Susan (Robert) Reardon of Boardman, Michael (Kathy) Sedmak of Tipp City, Stanley Sedmak of Youngstown and George Sedmak II of Youngstown; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, George Sedmak, whom she married on June 17, 1950, and died Jan. 5, 2015, after 64 years of marriage; siblings Russel Slavens, Paul Paglia, and Peggy Vitullo; and a great-granddaughter, Jessica Sedmak.
Family and friends may call from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Thursday at the church prior to the services.
Care was entrusted to the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
