CANFIELD - MaryLouise H. Buck, 84, affectionately known as MaryLou, passed away Tuesday morning, September 3, 2024, at Aventura at Assumption Village in North Lima, Ohio.
She was born on February 4, 1940 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Stephen and Anna (Mikita) Smith.
MaryLou was a graduate of South High School in 1958. She married James (Jim) H. Buck on October 24, 1964. MaryLou and Jim shared 55 years of marriage until he passed on June 27, 2020.
A lifetime member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Parish, MaryLou was a choir member for many years and ran the Altar Guild for several years at the church.
MaryLou enjoyed painting ceramics, baking, decorating birthday and anniversary cakes for family and friends. They bowled with the Catholic Slovak Sokols in Struthers for many years. MaryLou and Jim hosted international students from Brazil, Germany, Guatemala, and Belarus. They traveled to Campinas, Brazil to visit Raquel De Souza Nunes, Silvia Stevenson & Cassia Fares and their families. Additionally, MaryLou and Jim traveled with their son, Chris, to Germany to visit Bertold "Kurt" Grether and family.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Tricia (Chris) Chiaro of Boardman; sons, Greg (Heidi) Buck of Poland; son, Rick (Sandy) Buck of Delaware, OH; son, Chris Buck of Poland; sisters, Ruth Troxil of Boardman and Loretta Smith of Canfield; Grandchildren, Lyndzie Chiaro (Chris) Brown of Canfield, Stephanie Chiaro of Oxford, FL, Andrew (Kiko Zang) Buck of Germany; Ashley Buck of Poland; Marina Changelia and Velikie Luki of Russia, Shelby & Carly Buck of Delaware, OH; and Caden and Delaney Buck of Poland; Great-grandchildren: Luca, Micah, and Jack Brown of Canfield; and many Nieces and Nephews.
MaryLouise was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim; her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Peggy Smith; Goddaughter, Mary Smith; Brother-in-Law, Robert Troxil, and daughter-in-law, Meghan Patrick Buck.
Calling hours will be held from 9 to 9:45am, Saturday, September 7" at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
Prayers will begin at 9:45 am at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at Saint Michael Roman Catholic Parish in Canfield.
