LOWELLVILLE - Mary Jean LuBonovic, 71, passed away on April 22, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on May 30, 1953, a daughter of the late Harry Chamberlain and the former Emma Fire.
Mary was a graduate of Leetonia High School and a 1976 graduate of Youngstown State University. She worked as a dietary technician at St. Elizabeth, where she dedicated herself to the well-being of others.
Mary was a cherished member of the Holy Family Funeral Choir. She was an engaged and dedicated mother, generously volunteering for every endeavor her children pursued. Mary loved to cook and enjoyed sharing meals with family and friends. She also found pleasure in reading and spending time at the library, as well as engaging her mind with crossword puzzles and the charm of British television shows.
Mary is survived by her husband, John LuBonovic, whom she married on July 11, 1981; daughters, Stefanie (Jason) Hazen, of North Sewickley, PA and Gina (Rodney) Michna, of Milwaukee, WI; her son, Paul LuBonovic, of Cleveland; brother, John Chamberlain, of Detroit, MI; 5 grandchildren, Nathaniel, Lucas, Nadia, Quinn, and Serena; and her nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, 2726 Center Rd.
Prayers will begin at 930am on Friday, April 25, 2025, at the funeral home, followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Church. She will be laid to rest in St. John's Cemetery in Lowellville.
