AUSTINTOWN - Friends and family are invited to share prayers Friday morning at 9 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Mary Marsilio, 99, who died Monday evening at Meridian Arms Care Center.
Mary was born Feb. 4, 1910 in Bugnara L'Aquila, Italy, the daughter of Leonardo and Angelina Salamone DiTommaso. She came to this country in 1934. She was a homemaker and a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and its Holy Name Society. Mary loved to cook for her family and friends and will be remembered for always putting her family first and for her terrific Sunday family dinners.
Her husband, Vittorino Guy Marsilio, whom she married Nov. 23, 1930, died Nov. 16, 1991.
She is survived by her daughter, Angelina Neil Frasca of Austintown; a son, Henry D. Joan Marsilio of Boardman; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Emilio L. Marsilio; a brother, Dominic; and two sisters, Bambino Incani and Anna Theresa.
There are no calling hours at Mary's request.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to either the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church or the Meridian Arms Activities Center.
Mary's family would like to thank the professional staff at Meridian Arms for the excellent care and compassion during Mary's stay there.
