YOUNGSTOWN There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Brendan Church for Mary A. Leidy McMahon, who left this life to dance with the angels Wednesday evening at her home. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mrs. McMahon was born in Youngstown, the daughter of Elmer F. and Catherine J. Welsh Leidy.
A lifelong area resident, Mary was a graduate of East High School and had attended Youngstown College. She was a proud wife and mother, and left a bit of herself with everyone lucky enough to cross her pass.
She was a member of St. Brendan Church, as well as its Altar and Rosary Society, Hospitality Committee and Parish Life Committee, and had also served as a Lector. In addition, she was a member of Seton III and the
National Council of Catholic Women, the Woman¹s Committee for Children¹s Concerts at Powers Auditorium, and the Mill Creek Woman¹s Golf League. She was also a former Mill Creek Park Commissioner.
Her husband, Kenneth F. McMahon, whom she married Aug. 2, 1944, died July 2, 1993.
She is survived by six daughters, Mary Jo Paul Schwartz of Orlando, Fla., Catherine Dan Klingensmith of Youngstown, Maureen Ray Criswell of
Houston, Grace Chuck Johnson and Patricia Tim Cearfoss, both of
Youngstown and Denise Rodney Latsko of Poland Township; two sons, Ken Beverly McMahon of Poland and James Susan McMahon of Powell; a son-in-law, Mark Julian of Uniontown; 30 grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Susan C. Julian; a sister, Grace Leidy; and a brother, James Leidy.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, where the Altar and Rosary Society will have a prayer service at 2:45 p.m.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the Mary A. McMahon Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home. Mom, you will be 29 forever! God Bless!
