Mary A. Metzinger, 95

Canfield- Services will be 11AM Saturday in the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel for Mary A. Metzinger, age 95, of Canfield, who died Monday afternoon at Sunrise Assisted Living in Poland.

Mary was born February 28, 1913 in Youngstown to the late John and Anna Dernyer Blasko.

During WWII Mary worked at Truscon Steel Corp, Wonder Bakery, and Packard Electric; In 1973 She retired from North Side Hospital as a Nurses Aid.

Mary was a member of Evergreen Seventh Day Adventist Church, Dorcas Society and taught Sabbath School. Her joy in life was to help others and tell them about Jesus. Her favorite Bible verse was Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. It became her motto.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Bud Metzinger who died September 28, 1978, a brother John Blasko, two grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Martha Robert Enlow of Canfield, Mary Ann Allen Smith of Peoria, Arizona, and Susan Waldo of Glendale, Arizona; two brothers, Michael Diane Blasko, and Andrew Blasko all of New Middletown, 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren,

Friends may call Friday from 5-8PM at the funeral home.

Burial Forest Lawn Cemetery.
