Mary Moltchan

December 7, 1925 — December 14, 2015

AUSTINTOWN- Prayers will begin at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica at 10 a.m., officiated by the Very Rev. Msgr Michael J. Cariglio, for Mary E. Moltchan, 90, who died Monday evening at Hospice House surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Moltchan was born on Dec. 7, 1925 in Youngstown, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Finnerty) Modarelli.

She attended South High School. Her greatest joy was caring for her family, especially her children.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica.

Mary loved to travel, especially to her home in Florida. She also enjoyed shopping, crocheting, baking, and most importantly; spending time with her grandchildren.

She was also a member of card and dance clubs.

Mary's husband Bernard, whom she married on June 14, 1947, died Jan. 14, 1997.

Mary will be greatly missed by her three children; Mary Guthrie of Austintown, Bernie (Janet) Moltchan of Bradenton, FL, and Tom (Roxanne) Moltchan of Austintown, a brother; Joe Modarelli of Youngstown, 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

Besides her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by two daughters; Diane Rubesa, and Kathleen Shields.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday (Today) from 4 until 7 at the funeral home.

The family requests that material tributes be made in Mary's name to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrot Road, Poland, OH 44514.
