AUSTINTOWN - A prayer service will be held at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Youngstown for Mrs. Mary Louise Moran, 93, who died Sunday afternoon at Humility House.

She was born Nov. 5, 1918, in Youngstown, a daughter of George L. and Marie A. Farragher Gagen.

Mary Louise graduated from St. Dominic School and was a lifelong member of the church. After graduating from South High School and prior to her marriage, she worked at Automatic Sprinkler, where she met her loving husband, Gabriel E. Moran. They were married March 6, 1944, at his alma mater, The University of Notre Dame's Log Chapel.

While raising her children, she was President of Junior Seton, in later years was an active member of Junior Newman, Catholic Service League, Garden Club of the Little Flower, as well as a member of Brenner's Jewelry Store staff.
One of the highlights of Mary Louise's life was her trip to Ireland and one of the many joys of her life was her love of all things Irish.

Mary Louise will always be remembered as a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who lived by the words "Family First." She is a 14 year breast cancer survivor and for the past 10 years, has valiantly fought Alzheimer's disease with strength and dignity.

She leaves her three daughters to carry on her legacy of love, strength, and dignity, Cecily Karl Roach of Youngstown, Karen Kevin Freaney of Canfield and Mary Beth Thomas Kennedy of Hinsdale, Ill; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Barry Kaiser of Butler, Pa., Patrick Jocelyn Roach of Fairview Park, Kevin Heather Freaney of Atlanta, Jonathan Meg Freaney of Chicago, Michael Kennedy of Chicago and Claire Kennedy of Chicago; and one great-granddaughter, Norah Mary Catherine Kaiser.
Mary Louise was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gabriel E.; a sister, Cecily A. Davis; and a brother, George L. Gagen.

The family would like to thank the staff of Humility House, especially Melissa and Heidi for their care and compassion during their mother's last days.

Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
