POLAND - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning at St. Dominic Church, preceded by prayers at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel for Mary Rita Mullarkey, 90, who died Saturday morning at Hampton Woods Nursing Center, surrounded by her family.
Mary Rita was born May 16, 1920, in Youngstown to the late William A. and Mary E. O'Malia Riley.
She was a 1938, graduate of South High School and a member of St. Dominic Church. Mary retired from Peoples Bank after many years in the bank office.
Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Mullarkey, whom she married Nov. 22, 1945, he died July 18, 1995; a son, Thomas F. Mullarkey; two sisters, Catherine Joshua and Ellen Halt; and three brothers James Riley, William Edgar Riley and Thomas J. Riley.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Catherine S. Renneker of Margate, Fla.; two sons, William A. Marguerite Mullarkey of New Waterford, and James M. Wanda Mullarkey of Youngstown; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nine nieces; six nephews; and many, many great-nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mary's family would like to thank everybody at Hampton Woods Nursing Center for the wonderful, loving care they gave her the last two years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions maybe made to St. Jude's Research Hospital.
