BOARDMAN - Prayers will begin Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the Holy Family Church for Mary "Mae" Dorothy Muzina, 92, who died Friday afternoon at Shepherd of the Valley, surrounded by her family.
Mary was born Feb. 6, 1923, in Arnold City, Pa., the daughter of Stephen and Rose (Pasturik) Samek.
She was a 1941 graduate of Marion High School and worked for many years in the catalog department at Sears Roebuck and Company until her retirement. Mary enjoyed ceramics, gardening and crocheting, and was awarded first place honors at the Canfield Fair at the age of 80.
Mary was a member of the Holy Family Church.
Her husband, John E. Muzina, whom she married Sept. 2, 1943, died April 10, 1993.
Mary is survived by her children, Dorothy (William) McBride of Poland, Bob (Mary) Muzina of Tuckahoe, N.Y., Alicia Muzina of North Lima, and Annette (Dave) Hospodar of Poland; five grandchildren, Monica, Bill, Lindsy, Lacey, and Kyle; and five great-grandchildren, Trey, Zachary, Jessica, Clayton, and Maddox.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rosemarie; granddaughter Nicole Raybuck; sister Anne Samek; and two brothers, John and Stephen Samek.
Family and friends may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
