NORTH CAROLINA - Mary Roman passed away peacefully at the age of 90, on March 25, 2017, in North Carolina.
Mary, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Kurty, was born in Dubova, Czechoslovakia on June 26, 1926.
Mary retired from Ohio Bell. She was an active member of St. Mary's Golden Pillars, The Rosary Society and the Telephone Pioneers.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 38 years, Michael; and her brothers, Joseph and Fred.
She is survived by her sons, James (Cindy) and Michael Jr. (Joan), both of North Carolina; and a daughter, Marianne (Jeffrey) Detwiler of Ohio. Mary had 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 1, at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, 356 S. Belle Vista Ave. in Youngstown from 10 to 11 a.m.. A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery.
