Poland .. . . A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 Am at St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church, New Middletown for Mrs. Mary Salata Scheetz age 80 formerly of Sena Lane, Poland, who died Friday morning at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center.
Mary was born May 24, 1927, in Youngstown, a daughter of Michael and Mary Palatis Salata.
She had worked at Campbell Electric, Struthers for 15 years as a sales clerk and also for her husband John as a bookkeeper who was a self employed Accountant. Mary was a member of the church.
Mary leaves her husband John L. Scheetz whom she married May 26, 1978, 2 sons John Debby Gavalier of Columbiana and Dennis Karen Gavalier of Conifer, Colorado: 2 brothers Joseph Salata of Poland and Paul Salata of New Middletown and 5 grandchildren who called her BaBa.
She was preceded in death by 3 sisters Mrs. Ann Vranches, Mrs. Helen Greer and Margaret Vitko and 3 brothers John, Michael and Edward Salata.
Friends may call Monday from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel and on Tuesday from 10:30 Am - till the time of the service at St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the church in memory of Mary.
