Austintown- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00AM Thursday in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with Fr. Stephen Popovich officiating, for Mary Sanko, age 89, of Austintown, who died Monday morning at the Hospice House surrounded by her family.
Mary was born July 19, 1918 in Youngstown to the late George and Mary Kacik Magada, Sr.
She was a member of the church, and former member of Wickcliff Garden Club. An avid Bowler, belonging to four teams in the Wedgewood Lane Bowling League.
During WWII Mary worked at General Fireproofing in the office as a mail carrier.
Besides her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband John Sanko whom she married January 13, 1938, he passed May 9, 1995; a sister, Ann Hannis, and five brothers, George, Paul, Cyril, Peter, and Stephen Magada.
Mary is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Jean Louis Fetch of Boardman, and Mary Ellen John Rorick of Austintown; six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Today Wednesday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home, and Thursday at 9:30am for prayers.
