POLAND Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel for Mary Anne Seman, who passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Briarfield Manor, where she had been a resident for one year.
Mary Anne was born Sept. 24, 1935 in Pasadena, Calif. to Anthony and Agnes Krall in Campbell.
She graduated from Campbell Memorial High School and attended Youngstown
State University.
A lifelong area resident, she married Matthew ³Red² Seman in October of 1957.
During her career, she worked for the Community Action Council, Ohio Bureau of Employment Services and Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation. She retired from the Bureau of Worker¹s Compensation in 1990. Mary Anne had been a member of the Truman Johnson Democratic Club, Monday Book Club and the Mahoning Garden Club. She performed volunteer work for Angels for Animals, the Butler Art Institute and the Davis Center.
Mary Anne appreciated all types of music and shared her love of reading books and decorating magazines with her family. She enjoyed driving her Cadillacs, spending time with her family and friends at the family cabin in Pennsylvania, dancing, pampering her cats, and gardening. Mary Anne was proud to have been recognized by The Vindicator as one of the Valley¹s good cooks and was known for her excellent pie crust.
She leaves three daughters, Mary Anne Michael O¹Toole of Poland, Christine Tom Cerni of Minnesota and Karen Seman of Michigan; three sisters, AgieSteve Smith of New Jersey, Anna Santelli of Poland and Carolyn William Wonders of Middlefield; a brother, Anthony ³Sonny² Eleanor Krall of Wisconsin; and sister-in-law, Margaret Sobnosky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Red; and a sister, Katherine ³Kitty² Krall.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel.
Her family would like to thank the staff of Briarfield Manor for their care in the last year.
Donations may be made in her name to Hospice of the Valley in appreciation of their assistance in her care.
